What is orofacial myofunctional therapy or "myo"?
Orofacial myofunctional therapy re- trains the oral motor muscles used to breathe, chew, and swallow. It uses individualized exercises, awareness, and reduction of muscle compensations with the aim to correct improper muscle movements to restore normal function. With airway health being the over-arching goal, this therapy addresses the underlying causes of many disorders.
